Anne Bennie graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1990. She obtained a Diploma in Legal Practice in 1992 and was admitted to the Law Society of Scotland as a Solicitor in May 1994.
Anne joined Levy & McRae as a Trainee Solicitor in 1992. Since 1993, she has been engaged in the Litigation side of the practice progressing from Trainee, to Assistant, to Associate and then to Litigation Partner in January 2000.
Her areas of expertise are Commercial Litigation, Personal Injury and Contract and Employment Law. Anne has extensive experience in representing private and commercial clients in courts throughout Scotland, in the Court of Session at Edinburgh and in representing family and other interested parties at Fatal Accident and Public Inquiries.
As a litigation specialist, Anne is aware of the need for commercial disputes to be resolved without resorting to court processes, if at all possible. She is also experienced in conducting negotiations on behalf of clients and in representing clients at Arbitration and Mediation.
As an employment lawyer, she is also experienced in advising employers and in conducting employment tribunal and appeal hearings. She advises on all aspects of the employment relationship including termination, business reorganisations, review of policy and procedures, negotiation of employment contracts and discrimination issues.
