Callum joined Levy & McRae in August 2004 at the beginning of a two year traineeship. He qualified as a Solicitor in August 2006. Callum previously spent University vacations working as a student researcher for the Firm. Callum graduated from University of Strathclyde in July 2003 having gained an LL.B (Honours) degree. He completed his Diploma in Legal Practice from the Glasgow Graduate School of Law in June 2004 and spent a year studying International Law at the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands.
Callum regularly appears in the Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland appearing in civil cases, criminal cases and Fatal Accident Inquiries. He has conducted a number of criminal trials, appearing for Police Officers, Prison Officers, and private individuals. Callum has conducted a number of Public Inquiries before the Traffic Commissioner, appeared before Licensing Boards and disciplinary hearings.
Callum is a member of the firm’s media law team that provides 24/7 pre-publication advice to a number of print and broadcast media clients. He has been involved in media post publication litigation defending defamation claim. Callum was involved in the first Summary Application under the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 and a case before the UEFA Appeals Body in Switzerland.
